Hike Jud Weibe: History, Flora & Native Plants Open
Sunday June 29, 2025 8:00am - 10:15am MDT
Join Holly for a heart-pumping hike up Jud Wiebe Trail, a local favorite - a great way to leave the festival with your heart full! Enjoy traveling through aspen groves, & wide open meadows while you take in gorgeous views of town, the valley floor, bridal veil falls, the ski area, and the Wilsons.  Holly will share some of Telluride's history, point out native flora and fauna, and teach strategies for enjoying the more difficult aspects of the ascent with some pranayama and meditation prompts.

Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous
Elevation Gain: 1,300 feet (we will be doing an out and back, not the full loop in the interest of time)
Time: Approx. 2 hours (keep in mind that this hike starts and ends in the Town of Telluride, which requires a 15-minute gondola ride back to the Town of Mountain Village. This hike will not end in time to make it to a 10 am class).
Disclaimer: Hiking at 9,000 ft requires a base level of cardiovascular fitness and is not for the "faint of heart." Be sure to hydrate appropriately and note the difficulty of the hike for the best and safest experience.

Step onto the Jurassic Trail with Lauren and journey through deep time, where ancient landscapes invite us to reflect on the vastness of Earth’s history and our fleeting yet meaningful place within it. Through mindful walking, breath awareness, and quiet observation, we’ll explore how nature holds both the memory of the past and the presence of the now. This hike through aspen groves and forests is an opportunity to connect with the land’s ancient story while grounding ourselves in the present moment.

Distance: 2.5-miles
Elevation Gain: 700 feet
Time: Approx. 2 hours (keep in mind that this hike starts and ends in the Mountain Village but requires a 10-minute gondola ride to start and finish.  This hike will not end in time to make it to a 12pm class).
