Yoga Optimized: Physics With Feeling Open

This could be one of the most pivotal afternoons in your yoga journey. While yoga is rooted in spiritual laws, Newton’s Laws still apply—because making shapes in gravity can either heal or hurt you. Modern yoga often treats “alignment” as the Holy Grail, but traditional alignment focuses on geometry—like stacking bones into aesthetically pleasing shapes—without fully considering force transfer and load distribution. True sustainability in movement isn’t just about arranging our bones into ideal shapes; it’s about how force moves through the body.
Understanding how tension and compression act on the body in yoga helps us move efficiently and gracefully. This workshop shifts from a shape-first approach to one based on physics. You’ll learn to work with gravity, distributing forces wisely through muscles, fascia, and bones to enhance stability and freedom. Eoin’s gift is simplifying complex concepts, but more importantly, you’ll experience what optimized movement means for your unique anatomy. The Blissology tagline is, “Yoga is a feeling, not just a shape,” and in this immersion, you’ll embody that truth.
You’ll leave with insights into sarcomeres and connective tissue and tools to guide your body toward better function—on and off the mat. Science is a gateway to the soul. You will learn to move in ways that feel good and cultivate reverence, kindness, and wisdom—the three pillars of Yoga Optimized.

Superflow: Ocean Inspired Movement Open

One of the key Superflow principles is that “fluid bodies lead to fluid minds.” In alignment-based yoga, we move in a linear pattern; however, Superflow is a stream of fluid movements that leave you feeling strong yet grounded and open.
 
This intelligently sequenced movement experience intends to combine the grace of tai chi, liquid vinyasa, and surf-inspired poses with organic, intuitive motions that honor the oceans inside our body and out. We start with gentle Embodied Centering movements before working into more physically challenging fluid sequences. We end with deep stretch and ocean pulsation meditation.  Every gesture in this practice is a love letter to the ocean.  Open to all levels of students.

This workshop is grounded in the intersection of science and soul. You will gain insights into the mechanisms of the body that lead to the experience of energy and the sublime. Drawing from the new Yoga Optimized book, we will explore the link between breathing physiology and emotional regulation.
We’ll learn the Blissology 3D Breath technique from Yoga Optimized, using the primary and accessory muscles of respiration to create more internal calm and shift our nervous systems. As we do so, we realize that yoga is a process of subtraction, not addition. We reawaken the universal love and insight we were always meant to feel.
After an insightful lecture, we’ll enjoy a slow-flow yoga practice that is nothing short of paradigm-shifting. Chill is a skill, and this workshop will enhance your ability to find more calm on the mat, the meditation cushion, and in your life.

Hip-openers and “backbends” are arguably the most popular category of yoga poses. This workshop aims to give you both cerebral knowledge and mind-body awareness to precisely and safely create the pose that is right for your body rather than settling for one-size-fits-all generic cues.

The first part of the workshop will be presentation-style, combining biomechanics and experiential anatomy. Then, we will apply these principles in a fluid Vinyasa flow practice so you can feel the joy of these principles in your asanas.

Expect to learn unique Blissology principles from Eoin‘s new book, Yoga Optimized, which includes DUO and Dynamic Unifying Opposition. You will leave this workshop with a whole new toolkit to balance the tension and compression in our hip joints and spine to make our bodies function optimally now and well into old age.  Of course, when we feel good, we spread good.
