About me
Elizabeth brings a serene, yet playful energy to the paddleboard, creating a space for deep connection with both the natural world and those she meets. As an intuitive listener, she guides her students to ground, balance, and breathe fully into the present moment. Her classes are designed to challenge the body while harmonizing the mind, body, and soul. With each stroke and each breath, Elizabeth encourages mindfulness, growth, and the peaceful flow that life offers in every ripple.
Her journey began in Leadville, Colorado, where she fell in love with the environment and became a wilderness guide, earning an associate’s degree in Natural Resource Management. She later moved to Grand Junction to complete her bachelor’s in Environmental Science and quickly developed a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty and outdoor adventures. It was here she chose to call home.
After becoming a mom to three vibrant children, Elizabeth found it challenging to re-enter the workforce in her field. To find balance, she turned to her yoga mat, embraced long river paddles, and spent time exploring the trails. These moments of stillness and reflection helped her realize that her own well-being—and that of her family—needed attention. She became the anchor that kept her family grounded, and it was then she made the life-changing decision to prioritize her health and personal growth.
In 2016, Elizabeth received her first 200-hour RYT certification through the Academy of Yoga, followed by paddleboard yoga and fitness certifications through Paddle Into Fitness. She also became certified through the American Canoe Association and World Paddle Association to teach stand-up paddleboarding. This path led to the creation of her business, Grand Junction Adventures. Elizabeth’s dedication to her practice continued with a 200-hour Baptiste Power Yoga certification from Half Moon Yoga in 2018, a Yin Yoga certification from Z Flow Power Yoga in 2019, and a 300-hour certification from Lakshmi Rising School of Yoga & Wellness in 2021. In 2023 she became an E-RYT and helped lead a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga V Studio.
In the warmer months, Elizabeth leads women’s retreats on the Colorado River, guiding guests through the breathtaking red sandstone cliffs of Ruby Horsethief Canyon. She also offers rafting and paddleboard adventures in the Grand Junction area, hikes through the Colorado National Monument and Rattlesnake Arches, and teaches SUP yoga classes. Elizabeth is passionate about learning, practicing, and sharing her love of yoga in its many forms. She believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, experience, or physical limitations. There is always a practice waiting for you! If you are ever in Grand Junction and looking for an adventure or a women’s retreat, check out gjadventures.com.
