About me
Driven by a deep passion for yoga, Matt teaches from his experience and profound knowledge of bio-mechanics. He provides a technique-driven, anatomy-informed practice that is educational and transformative yet uniquely light-hearted and joyful. Matt has a unique way of providing students with the missing links they need to take their practice to the next level.
Matt’s career began in Manhattan, teaching excessive amounts of classes and private yoga just to make ends meet. He struggled to find his place in the yoga scene as his teaching style never quite fit the standard vinyasa mold that all other teachers were sharing. He found his stride by offering workshops, centered around technique and bio-mechanics. Little by little festivals and studios around the U.S. and eventually Europe and Asia began hosting him. The very thing that made it a struggle to fit in was also the key that unlocked his success as he toured the world.
In 2015 Matt founded Chromatic Yoga, the global school of yoga that aims to provide the highest level of education while honoring each teacher’s and student’s unique authentic qualities. Rather than trying to mold everyone’s asana practice to look the same, Chromatic teachers provide students with an education on bio-mechanics and techniques to empower them to make the best and most appropriate decisions for their body in their practice. The same is true when it comes to the Heart of yoga, the teachings offered in Chromatic are non-dogmatic yet honor the traditions of the Yoga Sutras. Chromatic Teachers are encouraged to find their Authentic voice and teaching style while they develop and refine their full range of skill sets.
Matt currently lives on a hobby farm in Connecticut, and offers 200 & 300 Hour online Chromatic training as well as in-person events and Hybrid courses.
